Style sheets let you group paragraph formats, character attributes, rules, and tab settings so they can all be applied collectively with one action. The Style Sheets command (Shift - f11 QuarkXPress 4 - Mac version) displays the Style Sheets dialog box which lets you create and manage paragraph and character style sheets. You apply style sheets to text using the Paragraph Style Sheet or Character Style Sheet command in the Style Menu, keyboard commands, or the Style Sheets Palette (View > Style Sheets).

This brochure was created as a 8.5" x 11" document with landscape orientation , with .25" margins left, right, top, and bottom, 3 columns, and a .5" gutter. The first step was to decide which elements are common to both pages and to then put them on the master page. Using the Document Layout Palette. A second page was then be created by using the Document Layout Palette to make a new page based on the master page (A-Master-A). The second step was to create linked text boxes the necessary picture boxes with the required frames and runaround, and to import the supplied images and text using the File > Get Text/Picture command (Command E). Next, lines were drawn using the Line Tool to connect the pictures and text using horizontal and vertical guides. The final step was to define a Style for each different type style and font using the Style Sheets Dialog Box - Style > Character/Paragraph Style Sheet (Shift F11). The style sheets were then applied to the type.
